You know, I’ve seen some things that just make me shake my head while thinking, “Buddy, you just don’t get it!” Below you will find a humorous take on some of the things I’ve seen. If you can identify with being (gasp) or ever wanted tell clueless internet marketers, “Here’s your sign,” add your two cents in a comment. Here we go!
You may be a clueless internet marketer…
- If I visit your site and can’t see the content because a “signup” for your newsletter is blocking my view. ( Of course I’m not going to sign up! I haven’t seen anything worth taking the spam-risk.)
- If it takes an act of congress (or jail time) for people to get the products they paid for.
- If you think spamming everyone you know is a great way to market stuff.
- If in your emails I get more promos for somebody else’s stuff than I do for your products.
- If you think that mailing me every day (sometimes more than once) is going to encourage me to buy.
- If you think the CAN-SPAM Act means you can spam people who opted out of your mailings.
- If your sidebar extends 5 inches past the content because you just have to get in another ad.
- If you think I’m going to add you on linkedin when I don’t know who you are.
- If just because you read a marketing book, you think you are qualified to teach others about marketing.
- If you believe that “if you build it, they will come” without any other effort on your part.
- If you ignore sound suggestions and advice from the professionals you hire.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Again, if you can relate to being or seeing any of these clueless internet marketers mistakes, feel free to add your thoughts.

BRAVO! Well said…..should be shared with every blogger/marketer out there.
LOL Thanks Lorian. Glad you enjoyed it and it’s nice to see I’m not the only one who feels like they are in a one-oar boat.
