Business Tools: The Rebel and The Revolution

This Georgia rebel is not a techie in the strictest sense of the word; however, I do like to try out business tools and gadgets. As I try them out, I also like to share my experience with you. The following is the “saga” of my experiences with my new toy. The title says it all - Business Tools: The Rebel and The Revolution (theme).

For a while now, I have wanted to change my website to a theme that would give it a little more pizzazz. I wanted to add more features and arrange the sections in a different way. I started looking at WordPress “magazine” themes. (I just love WordPress!) As always, I checked out the free templates first. When I didn’t find what I wanted, I moved on to the “premium” themes.

I’m guessing that many of you are like me and are (clears throat) frugal. In general, if I’m willing to pay a premium price, it must be something that is very special! Anyway, I checked out several templates and to my disappointment, I had to jump through hoops on the back end to get things to work correctly. To be perfectly honest, even though I can do a few php code tweaks, I just wasn’t willing to put that much time into a theme that frustrated me from the word “go.”

I had my eye on Brian Gardner’s Revolution Themes, but I really didn’t want to pay the price he was asking. I knew it was a reasonable price but hey, I had a few other things higher on my priority list. Never mind the fact that I like to change themes like others change light bulbs. To make a long story short, I took the plunge last month and purchased the Media Pro theme. This is what it looked like when I started.

As you can see, I made quite a few tweaks to add “my colors” and arrange the sections to my liking. Making changes to this theme was much easier than with the other templates I tried. I’m so glad I trusted my instincts and purchased this theme!

If you’ve been thinking about getting one of Brian’s Revolution Themes but have been hesitating, stop. These themes are great business tools and I highly suggest that you get a Revolution Theme! Not only do the themes add an element of professionalism to your site but they also have loads of built-in features that make website maintenance easier.

After you get your theme, free or premium, let me know how you like it!

P.S.

Although, I don’t offer a full website design service, if you run into trouble or need a few tweaks to your Revolution Theme, contact me and I’ll see if I can help you out.
